Appeals in family law are complicated. We work with numerous appellate attorneys including Daniel McCarthy, who specializes in all aspects of appellate law. Every situation is different, with most appeals being filed after a trial or hearing by the litigant who is unhappy with the result. Family law appeals can be very complicated, and it is important that they be considered on a case by case basis. The appeal process can take anywhere from nine months to a year, and consists of ordering a transcript, writing briefs, often having oral arguments at the Court of Appeals, and then waiting for a decision. We are happy to advise you on your case appeals.
